"To scale daring leadership and build courage in teams and organizations, we must cultivate a culture in which brave work, tough conversations, and whole hearts are the expectation, and armor is not necessary or rewarded."
~ Brené Brown
I highly recommend the Dare to Lead course offered by Tovi Scruggs-Hussein and Julie Boll. Never have I before experienced such a transformational curriculum – even in an all virtual format. Their mastery of the content on courageous leadership, expert facilitation, and individualized coaching approaches will forever change your outlook on leadership and give you the tools to embody your aspirations. The course goes beyond concepts to produce integrated outcomes that drive sustainable leadership changes. In addition, you will experience this transformation in a cohort of world-class educators and nonprofit leaders. This course holds the key to make our academic institutions and mission-based organizations more courageous and equitable."

The Building of a safe and sacred container was magical from Day 1. The 1-1 coaching sessions will be touchstones in my life story. The pacing of instruction and the co-teaching model were highly effective. Prioritizing processing through collaborative conversations was also a key to the high level of engagement I saw in all cohort members.

I was very familiar with Brene Brown's work and had read Dare to Lead prior to coming to the training led by Julie Boll. I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and opened my heart to this tremendous work. Not only did I learn very practical ways to become courageous in my work life, I found everything to be incredibly applicable in my personal life as well. Even after day 1, I began using some of the language learned and saw an immediate impact on how I worked with others and how I gave myself more grace to be honest and make mistakes. Thank you!

I am so grateful I had the opportunity to participate in this experience, both on a personal and professional level. In the end, just having the time set aside and dedicated to getting down to the human level of how people communicate and examining the reasons behind why some people are effective and others are not was extremely helpful.
~Emily Cook, Leaders for Life Program Coordinator
It was the best training I’ve attended! We sent a team of educational leaders from our district and we have already had numerous discussions surrounding the workshop and how we can improve as a group and as individuals. This program made me step out of my comfort zone and I will be forever grateful for it!

Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program. It is designed to create opportunities to develop courage-building skills through workshops and trainings with individuals, teams, and organizations to help them move from armored leadership to daring leadership.
Dare to Lead™ is designed for individuals who are ready to embrace brave leadership, shed their armor and show up with whole hearts in their work and life.
According to Brené’s research, there are four components of courage-building:
- Rumbling With Vulnerability
- Living Into Our Values
- BRAVING Trust
- Learning To Rise
